Transferring Credits
- Transfer Equivalencies
- Transfer credit evaluations are conducted in the Office of Registration and Records. The evaluation process begins after a student is admitted to the university and takes approximately 1-3 weeks for processing. You will receive an email from the Office of Registration and Records once your transfer credit evaluation is completed. - Transfer Equivalency Database: Students may check for unofficial evaluations using TES.
- General Education: Students who have completed an Associate of Arts (A.A.), Associate of Science (A.S.), NDUS General Education Requirement Transfer Agreement (GERTA), or Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) from a regionally accredited institution will have their lower-level general educations requirements waived.

Student Support
Student Success Programs: Student Success Programs houses a variety of programs aimed at helping students be successful at NDSU. This includes everything from orientation and Welcome Week to a tutoring center and federally funded TRIO programs.
- ACE Tutoring is a free academic support program available to all enrolled undergraduate students. They provide tutoring, assistance finding study groups and even just a quiet space to study. They are located in the lower level of the West Dining Center.
- Orientation offers a specialized experience for transfer students through both online and in person orientation sessions. During an orientation session, you can expect to learn more about campus, academics, finances and making connections with both students and faculty.
- Welcome Week takes place during at the start of the fall semester and is a great time to explore campus, meet other students and learn more about NDSU. We offer special events specifically for transfer students to meet, greet and even eat.
Career and Advising Center: The Career and Advising Center provides holistic advising and career support at any point in a student’s college career.
- Academic advising is provided by trained advisors who can help students with major exploration or general advising questions. Students can schedule appointments with an advisor through Navigate.
- Career coaching services are provided by career coaches who can help with anything related to your career journey. This includes career exploration, resume and cover letter help, interviewing practice, job search skills and more. Students can schedule appointments with career coaches through Navigate or by dropping into the Career Studio in Ceres Hall, 3rd floor.
- Internship opportunities can be found through the Handshake system and registered for academic credit through our center’s internship program. Students can work with internship staff at any point in the process.
- Career fairs and events are held throughout the academic year to help support interaction between students and employers.
Military and Veteran Services: Military and Veteran Services is available to assist veterans and military students with their transition to our university. They can assist with questions regarding the GI Bill, tuition waivers, registration, activation/deployment and a variety of other concerns.
Office of Multicultural Programs: The Office of Multicultural Programs provides a holistic approach to recruiting and supporting students coming from multicultural backgrounds. They provide both individual student support along with campus-wide support by providing assistance, education and outreach.
TRIO Student Support Services at NDSU is supported through a federal grant and is designed to enhance the educational experience of eligible students while at NDSU. They offer free services like specialized academic advising, one-on-one tutoring, career exploration options, priority registration, mentoring services and more. Student Services
Child Care at the Wallman Wellness Center provides convenient and affordable high-quality care and education for children six weeks to five years old while their parents pursue education at NDSU.
The Wallman Wellness Center promotes a culture of life-long wellness by developing innovative programs and services for the NDSU community. All programs and services come at no additional cost to students.
The NDSU Counseling Center provides a confidential setting where students can receive support for personal or academic concerns. All services, aside from specialized testing, come at no additional cost to students.
Student Health Service promotes the well-being of students by empowering them with the knowledge, skills and spirit to take responsibility for personal, family and community health. Student Health Service provides preventive, acute and chronic care to enrolled and eligible NDSU students
NDSU Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources collaborates with the NDSU community to facilitate equal access in academic pursuits, promote self-advocacy and foster inclusion for students with disabilities. Common accommodations are:
- Determining appropriate scheduling and location of courses.
- Priority registration for those students whose accommodations necessitate these course arrangements.
- Alternative Text Requests.
- Access to class notes.
- Alternative testing, which may include (but is not limited to) extended time on tests, distraction-reduced rooms, a reader, a scribe, large print, special lighting, use of a computer.

Academic Experiences
NDSU Study Abroad is committed to promoting and facilitating student mobility and internationalization strategies to create practical, effective engagement between our local community and the world. Study abroad encourages transformative learning opportunities that foster academic development, personal growth and intercultural competence that are indispensable elements of a quality education in today’s global society.
National Student Exchange offers students the opportunity to study on another campus in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands while paying NDSU tuition. Study for a single semester or academic year at one of 200 NSE participating colleges and universities.
Tri-College University gives students the opportunity to take courses at one of five area institutions: Concordia College, Minnesota State University Moorhead, Minnesota State Community and Technical College, North Dakota State College of Science and NDSU. Research opportunities: Students are at the center of hands-on learning at NDSU. Many opportunities are available for graduate and undergraduate students to engage in research through real-world experiences that are contributing to the development of new knowledge across a variety of scholarly fields.
